What type of yoga do we teach?
We teach various styles of yoga, primarily Hatha Flow Yoga, Vinyasa and Yin.
Hatha Flow Yoga is a combination of Hatha and Vinyasa styles. Asanas (poses) are held for longer and there is concentration on breath work, alignment and rejuvenation. Hatha Yoga balances the subtle energies of the body. Alternating between the energies of strength and softness, forceful and passive.
Vinyasa yoga is a more active yoga style. Asanas are generally only held for 1 breath (inhale/exhale) and synchronized with flowing movements. There is more of an emphasis on yoga as an aerobic exercise and you are likely to sweat whilst building strength, stamina and fitness.
Yin yoga targets the deep tissues within the body. Asanas are generally held for a longer period and there is a focus on pranayama breathing to support the body to go deeper. Yin yoga is classed as a more relaxed and rejuvenation style of yoga.
All our classes are suitable for all levels. Bring your own yoga mat or use mats provided.
